This artwork was created at the 9th Annual University of Brighton Institute of Nursing and Midwifery Mental Health Conference.
Participants were asked to cut or tear out pictures, images and slogans from magazines that reflect their unique and individual lived experience of working or being nursed on an acute in-patient unit. This workshop was suitable for participants who have important insights into the experience of acute in-patient provision and yet, who feel their voice is not always heard, listened to or respected.
Gail Salsbury is the Senior Charge Nurse of a 33 bedded mental health unit in Hastings for patients experiencing mental health problems of a nature and degree that require in-patient rather than community care.
